Please Help!! Problem with Pioneer DVR-AO5U Writer

    Hi: does anyone know much about these DVD-R/RW drives? I baught one today and hooked it up, Windows XP recognises it but no Cd's or DVD's play or burn in it. I have the latest drivers and looked everywhere for help but can't fine any. The bussy light and the disc tray work fine. Can anybody please help me?

    How did you connect it up. As a master on the IDE 2 channel?

    I connect the DVD-R like Slave because already have a DVD player like Master. The DVD-R is connected in the same IDE (40 pin I/O) conncetor as my DVD player.

    Change them around. Make the DVD Writer the Master and the DVD ROM the slave. It will work better that way
