Ho. I recently tired to put a chip in myself, bad idea, and i fried my Ps2 motherboard. it would power button would turn on and turn back off to red. and i bought a broken ps2 off ebay. NOw all i did was replace the whole optical block, Now my PS2 turns on and the laser moves , but the disk wont spin . Is there anything i can do to make it spin. PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
well on thing is the thing that makes the disk spin might be jammed or its totally broken so you might want to check it closely
no its not that. Neither of them work on the one off the broken ps2 or my original one. i think it may be a fuse or something like that
the only thing i can suggest is taking it to a repair shop.....wait is the warrany still valid and is a slimline or a fat ps2
Yea just get a multimeter and check all the fuses on the back of the mobo. the fuses are marked on the board with PS.. Does everything else work except it reading the disk?
Yes everything works except the disk spinning, laser works, it moves, i can go to the browser and check my memeory card.
ahh im in the same boat. ive been looking around and people say its the RS2004FS IC chip or something like that
