Have been burning movies this same way for a very long time & have tried cleaning the disks & switching media as well (verbatim & maxwell) Please help with the following error log, have tried several different movies from wedding crashers to corpse bride & i get this every time. @ lsilv5127, Edit this & remove your Nero serial # starts 1A. Also, your Pioneer DVD Burner has DMA OFF. You need to be SURE DMA is ON. Also, don't use "Burn at Once" in Recode. Turn this off & let Recode copy to Hard drive first. Your Nero 6 Version is also OLD. You need to update it to 6.6.0.18. There are links to this & Nero Vision Express 3.1.0.21 here. Ask Binkie7 or Brobear.They posted links.Do Not update from Nero.com or you'll get the latest "Buggy" version 6.6.1.4. To reset your burner to DMA mode, click start>My Computer>View System information>Hardware tab>Device Manager. Uninstall your secondary IDE Channel driver and re-boot. After so many read errors Windows XP will turn off DMA mode and you'll be in PIO mode.This equals VERY SLOW reading. I noticed you DVD-ROM drive is in DMA mode. Your burner isn't. No wonder you're having trouble. Highly recommend do not use "Burn at Once" in Recode.
Thanks for the quick response! I have turned on the DMA and working on the other items as we speak. Tried to update frimware I clicked this link http://www.pioneer.co.uk/files/support/dvrup/RA07XLA_FW122.EXE but I got an error message "Available target not found"
Okay here we go again, I changed the DMA and also got the aspi layer from the link provided, asked to burn to hard disk folder and not use "Burn at Once" in Recode. The only thing I cant get is the burner firmware update, when I try to install it tells me target not found. So here is the latest log. What am I doing wrong? Please Help!
