I need assitance very badly. I have just reinstalled windows on my pc, which after a few basic problems which I can sort out at a later date pretty much everything is operational. Now I have come to install my games back to the hard drive and this is where my big problem starts. You see I have a lot of friends round at my house often and they borrow games from me a lot of the time. I don't mind this but for online games of course I do not hand out my valid cd keys. Instead I give them cracked cd keys i find on serial sites. So how do I protect my cd keys? Stupid I know but I destroy the game manuals and write all the valid cd keys in text files which I keep hidden ina folder on my pc. So for extra security I click on the folder and then go to properties and in the advanced section of the properties menu I chose to encrypt the files in the folder. Now after reinstalling windows I can not access any of these text files!! I'm talking about 100's of valid keys for various programs and games and I need to access these. I no longer have reciepts for most of the games so I doubt the software companies will issue me new keys. Please somebody tell me there is a way to un-encrypt these files it is my only hope!!! If not I will lose £1000's worth of products that I have bought over the last few years. There must be a way. I am screwed if not ;(
