Hello, I have a Nokia 6230 that is locked to T-Mobile UK. It works with a Virgin UK SIM card in it but I need to use a Vodafone Australia SIM card. The IMEI number is 355665009731358. Any help that you guys out there can provide would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Scott
I just realised that I didn't include the following information in the above thread: V 05.24 25-11-04 RH-12 GSM P1.1 Hope that helps. Many thanks. Scott
scott44 You will need a non Virgin/T-Mobile Sim. [bold]Please read ALL of the instructions below before you start.See the "Note:If nothing happens." below.[/bold] Did you check with IMEI: *#06# ,Firmware Version: *#0000# . Nokia:6230 IMEI:355665009731358 Network:T-Mobile/Virgin Country:UK [bold]Is this correct?[/bold] If you know the risks, try this [bold]ONCE and ONLY ONCE[/bold] and let us know if it works. You have only 3 to 5 tries and then it will be hard locked. After that you will need a cable thing-a-me-jiggy to unlock it. It will still work on your Network so no big loss. #pw+243345160175750+7# Remove sim first, power on the phone. After the phone boots up, press # Press * 3 times fast for (p) \ Press * 4 times fast for (w) IMPORTANT Press * 2 times fast for (+) / and the rest of the code--- [bold]IMPORTANT!![/bold] Verify code before pressing the last #. Pay attention. You only heve about two seconds. [bold]Note:If nothing happens.[/bold] Some Phones require that you to insert a non accepted sim.[bold] Before you do this, make sure the sim you use does NOT have a security PIN CODE. If it does, reset the security code to default 12345.[/bold] Insert a non accepted SIM and turn it on. You will see "phone restricted", press UNDO option and enter the code in the restriction box and press ENTER. "Phone restrictions off", it's unlocked. "Error code" wrong code.[bold]STOP[/bold] tell me. "Not allowed" or "Can Not Undo Restriction" it's hard locked. Used up all your free tries!! [bold]DO let us know if this works.[/bold] Help us provide a better service. JG
Thanks JG! It worked the first time. Score one for the good guys. Boo hiss to the market traders who wanted to charge me $50. Cheers, Scott
