I own a Sony RDR-GX7 DVD recorder. I've been having problems with the "disk is dirty" error like crazy. I always clean the disks before i use them and even clean the recorder's eye with a cleaning disk but still get this problem constantly. What else can I do?
Check with Sony and see if there's a firmware update for it. You can also try resetting it to factory settings, like it was when it was new. It should tell you how, in the owner's manual, usually in the troubleshooting area.
