please can someone help me out here. i have a few avi files with AC3 audio. when copied to dvd the sound is lost on the final product. ive tried absolutly everything to sort this problem out, using loads of different software programmes from GoldWave to AVItoDVD, trying to convert the AC3 to WAV and everytime the picture is lost! ive been trying to sort this for ages. if anyone could give some advice on how to sort this out that would be great thanyou
Try VSO DivxToDVD http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/vso_divxtodvd_guide.cfm Or VSO2 which is even better http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/vso_divxtodvd_2_guide.cfm
thanx for the tip. ive already tried them though and it just came out with sound and no picture. thankyou for the reply anyhow
The way i did it was to use VirtualDub (might have to use VirtualDubMod, cant remember) using "Save to wav". Then "Save to avi" (check the "no audio" option in the audio menu). Convert the video to MPEG2 with TMPGEnc. Then using DVD Lab i created my DVD(Vob) files by adding the sound to the movie. There is probably an easier way, but this will work. hope it helps
I've had this exact problem before 8pulhaw, I converted a bunch of DivX movies to Mpeg with Avi to DVD, then authored them with IFO Edit, and finally burned them with Nero 6. When I tried playing it back into windows media player, the picture would be flawless but there would be no sound. For some reason, when I play those Movies on My PS2, they play just fine and so does the sound. For the PC, I now always use Cyberlink Power DVD. It's not a free program, but for some reason unknown to me, it succeeds where media player fails at playing the sound on those converted movies. Maybe someone here is able to explain why....
