Ok, ive been doing pretty good as of late, ripping dvd's stuf like that, my collection is growing everyday. Yet now I dont know how to convery a divx to mpg. I used tmp but yet audio doesnt get transfered over to final conversion. Please can anyone help me on this issue, again i want to convert divx to vcd format so i can watch on my dvd player. Thnk you for your time guys, Dan
I think this might help to solve the TMPGEnc audio problem. You need VirtualDUB (which im sure you already have!). 1. Go to your virtualdub directory and run AuxSetup.exe. 2. Click "Install Handler". This will install frameserving. 3. Close auxsetup and open VirtualDUB. Open a divx movie. 4. Click File - "start frameserver .." 5. Browse for somewhere to save the file and make sure you save it as .avi. 6. Open the avi file in TMPGEnc and try to convert to vcd. 7. After a few minutes of encoding, click stop and run the output file. Check for the audio. If its there, start the encoding again and finish the whole file!
Hello thank you for your help. I did it has you stated, yet it didnt work that way, maybe i did it wrong. This is what i did, I loaded the divx avi into virtual dub and told it to save it as avi, encoded a bit, then saved file. Sound was with clip. Then i took tmpg and convertd the small clip into mpeg, it still worked with audio. Now earlier it didnt do audio at all, so i guess it works well. What codec should i use to shrink the file a bit..its currently 827 meg, to large for a 80 min cd-r..lots of codecs to choose from. I have a p4 2.0 gig comp if this would help. After i encode it virtual dub, then do tmp and encode it to mpeg, then i will go to my nero and burn it to a video cd..is this the best way you see, or is theer another. Thank you so much for your time..ive been like a kid in candy store with this stuff as late, i love it..and want to learn all that i can. again thank you sir and god bless you.. Dan
Well one hard thing to take in then will be the fact that vcd has to be 1150kbits/sec and 224kbits/sec audio! This means that you will most likely need 2 cdr's. Also, there isnt any vcd codec! (i think). However, you said 827mb's, with nero burning rom you could try to overburn a cd because 800mb = 80mins so you'll be overburnin about 2 mins if possible. Anyway try this. 1. open nero and click file - preferences. 2. Click expert settings and enable over burn. 3. Make overburn limit, lets say 85mins. Now click ok and try to write the vcd! Chances are, you might get it on one cdr.
