Please help!!

    What do I need to put in the computer to back up my home movies? What software, ect. All I have is a CD-rom in my computer. Thanks in advance for your help.

    You will need to provide a lot more information if you want an intelligent answer.

    What are all the specs on your computer?
    What format are your home movies on right now?
    What type of device are you transfering them from?
    What format did you want your back ups to be?

    Also, I would stongly recommend doing a search; as this topic has been discussed at length. That's the point of the forum, rather than an email form to ask a question.

    As well, it might be a good idea for future threads to have a meaningful subject line. People might pass over one that just says help, rather than saying "Backing up home movies on my computer."

    I will do a search thanks there is a lot more to this than i thought again thanks for giving me some kind of insight what im getting into thanks again

    I am looking to take a DVD and make it a back up I am asking what equipment I will need to do back ups in general. I dont have any equitment yet. Thanks

    If all you want to do is back up DVD's that you already have, you'll need a Pentium 4 class of computer and a DVD burner. If you check out the DVD-R for newbies section there's a few different methods on how to back up DVD's. I also have my prefered method in my signature.

    I was reading "home movies" as being home made movies; like your kid's birthday party and stuff like that.
