K what i am doing is wanting to hook up a hard drive to my slimline ps2 i have all of the instructions, the only problem is how do u un hook your external usb drive from your computer properly without loosing data,b/c if i just un plug my usb hard drive enclosure i loose all of my data of my hard drive!! How do i un hook it properly? I hope it makes sense to my helper,Thankz LMAO!!!!!
Your PC may be using write caching. Look in your taskbar for a green arrow icon. Click on it and follow instructions to stop your external device when you are done using it. Then you can unplug it safely. Or if you have WinXP, go to My Computer. Right click on the hard drive name. Select Properties. Click on the Hardware tab. Click Properties again. Click the Policies tab. Make sure "Optimize for Quick Removal" is selected.
