I am new to this site and burning in general but I am having huge problems. For the first two week everything I burned worked fine. I am using Nero Recode to back up movies. Then all of the sudden, Nero was saying it could only use DVD-R, when I had always used DVD+R. I solved that problem by reinstalling my drivers for the burner. But now when I try to burn a movie, Nero looks like it is working, it goes through all the steps, but then the burned DVD doesn't work. I can see the movie on the preview screen during the compression analysis and the compiling, but it disappears during the writing phase. I have tried switching media, (I was using Memorex until I read threads on your site, and have switched to Sony). Sometimes the buring works fine if I use the Burn at once feature, but then it takes a really long time to make more that one copy. If I try not using that feature, the disk doesn't work. What am I doing wrong?
Nothing wrong with using Memorex or Sony, both actually work no better than the other, in my opinion. Sounds like you just need to update the firmware. That should do the trick.
