I'm having a problem burning from dvd decrypter and nero.The problem I'm having is this. When I open dvd decrypter and select a movie then I select the green button to start burning the movie starts off fine but when it gets into the burn I notice the the write speed starts to drop from 4.2 all the way down to 0.0.Also the time remaining goes from whatever time left to unknown.This has also happen with me burnig from disc to disc using nero where the burn gets to a certain point and it won't continue.I thought I had got a bad batch of Sony MIJ'S from Sams but I bought some more Sony's from staples and I'm getting the same results.I called Dell thinking it's my burner and they did some troubleshooting over the phone and said it wasn't the burner it's the operating system. I'm using Windows XP.I have done alot of burning and have mess up a few disc for whatever reasons but not like this and not always the same way every time this is truly frustrating.Can anyone please help wiyh this problem.Thanks in advance.
a few things you can try first make sure your running the lastest firmware on your drives updated them is your machine clean? disc cleanup and defragging is a must if your backing up alot of dvds ,with NO other programs running while your burning. make sure your drives are in DMA mode NOT in PIO mode you can check and fix that in device manager or use this guide http://bbmayo.home.comcast.net/
