    trying to backup and getting this error..
    I can still use shrink to rip and then nero to recode.. Nero will not rip...


    Please help

    It seems like you are trying to back up a DVD, is this correct

    OK if it's a commercial DVD then it will probably be copy protected, this needs to be broken, for this I would recommend AnyDVD which is available free for a 21 day trial, available from slysoft site.
    Another way to go is to use DVD FabDecrypter.
    If you have Nero Recode it works great with AnyDVD (sams as Shrink).
    AnyDVD just runs in the background.
    There is a guide by bbmayo in my sig that should help.

    What movie is it? There are some - the ones w/ Sony's ARccOS that give Recode problems even with AnyDVD. Even the one's w/ Ripguard gave it problems until a recent AnyDVD update.
    The latest version of AnyDVD is 5.9.6.1.
    The other time I've seen this error w/ Recode the disc was dirty. Cleaning it off did the trick. Shrink though will rip the slightly 'dirty' ones better than Recode from my experience.
