I have tried my M3 Simply on 2 other DS's and even a new micro-sd card with the latest firmware but when I try to boot my M3 Simply the screen keeps showing a message that "this hardware is not compatible". How can I fix this?

The hardware not compatible message is usually displayed for one of two reasons, you are either trying to use an R4 firmware, or a firmware of the wrong language.

Try downloading the M3 firmware again, and as a test try downloading the M3 firmware in Chinese to see if that works.

I tried the chinese version and the v1.00 from the disk and got the same message. The english versions I am trying are from the links on the M3 website including the site dedicated to their product support. I also tried a new SD card and it is still showing the same message.
