I don't mind Anyone see compatibility issues? Do you think this thing will be outdated next month? any suggestions? I am considering dropping the sli nonsense and getting one GTX 280 and a budget case and power supply to offset the cost... It will prob only cost between $50-100 more.
Spend the extra 10$ to get the 7200.11 version of the HDD. It runs a lot quieter. It also has double the cache but won't affect things all that much.
That link for the memory is broken, recently I have got to know a good deal on memory, the Crucial 4GB PC2-6400 DDR2 dual channel memory kit for $20. That's quite good price, you can get it.
Case: Good idea, but overpriced. Your call really HDD: Good idea GPUs: Bad idea, one better card will get the same job done more reliably, use less power, cost less, etc. etc. etc. Buy this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102768 PSU: Very Bad idea. REALLY bad idea. Buy this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139002 RAM: Good idea Motherboard: Bad idea. Get: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128345 CPU: Good idea Your original spec breaks your $800 budget by miles, so I don't know exactly how much you want to spend.
