Recieved my order for the Plextor PX-M402U suggested by pfh. I copied two vhs tapes and it seems to be working great. It is alot easier to work with then the other 2 capture devices I tried. One was as ADS and the other by Pinnacle. Thanks for input and help.

How is that Ulead VS 8 working for you? It suppossedly uses the Mainconcept encoder and I'm curious how it compares with the Intervideo encoder. Post a screen shot? Should be a better quality- too bad I can't try it out before buying. Plextor won't let you in on a trial run and the free trial from Ulead isn't written with support for the ConvertX!!

Intervideo s/w would hang ~every 4th time I'd use it.

GB-PVR now supports it but uses the Intervideo encoder.

Wish I knew how to use the SDK's that are out there!

To be honest with you I only loaded the operating disk for the Plextor. I didn't load the video studio 8. Using what I have in Dell computer. New to this and some of the operating systems for video processing are foreign to me. So far on 3 process are very good. Will keep fingers crossed.
