I've started to use Nero Recode 2 to burn strip and burn DVDs. On one of the choices (copy DVD to Nero Digital), it won't start because I need the "Multi-Channel" plugin and the "DVD-Video" plugin in order to run it. Does anyone know the name of the plugins and where they are supposed to be put? I thought I had them all, but maybe not. (On the other side, it may be a Nero bug too, but I'm hoping somebody may know before I explore that avenue).
I hit the same problem with Nero when I updated. I had a complete working version before, now its telling me to purchase the plug-ins. I uninstalled the new and went back to my original setup. Don't know if its a bug or Nero wanting to make more money. Recode worked fine before. jerry

Yup, didnt have this problem myself, but there has been plenty of chat elsewhere. This is down to the fact that there was a small glitch in the first release download, the problem you discribe is down the fact that recode is in demo mode (prompting the plugin warning) and has not taken on your license. This has been fixed, so you should do a fresh download,If it still is a no go then do a complete uninstall and re-instal to sort out the problem. hope this helps.
Thank for the info, I'll try it again. But from what I saw in the version I had working, Shrink is still the better way to go. Even though both were written by the same guy. What good is Recode without a decrypter behind it. It might be good for making a 2nd copy of a copy, but I don't see anything else its good for. Just my opinion. Jerry
Hi guys, Here's an update to the Nero problem. I just downloaded the 4 parts again. They were dated Dec. 12. I uninstalled all the old Nero I had, installed the new. It all installed right, took my old serial numbers and all works well. Both RECODE and SHOWTIME which asked for plug-ins before now work completely. Must have been a problem with the 1st downloads. Jerry
I have noticed that tonight a newer version of Pack 2 has appeared on the Nero web site (dated December 24). I uninstalled all the packages, downloaded the new ones and I still have the same problem: if I open Recode directly (without the start-smart), by clicking on any of the 3 options it gives me the same error message saying that the DVD plugin is missing. If, on the other hand, I use start-smart then I can enter the program to convert DVD into mp4. But then it creates movies with no sound. By installing the DVD plugin, the first two options in Recode can be opened directly (without start- smart), but the result is the same, that is a movie with no sound. By selecting "Copy DVD to Nero digital" from the main menu of Recode I always get the message that the 5.1 plugin is missing, even with the DVD plugin installed. I tried to do a complete installation also on another partition with winMe instead of WinXP and I've got exactly the same problem. I tried with both the demo version and then using my serial code that was correctly accepted and also using the "updates" version: same results.
Guys, I've got news for ya. You don't need to install the plugin! The plugin [bold]is [/bold]included in all downloadable versions of nero 6.3. You do not have to redownload! [bold]Thing is, the plugin is only activated if you use the right serial number.[/bold] So: if the plugin doesn't work, you are using the wrong serial number! If your current serial doesn't activate the plugin, open StartSmart, click on the Nero logo on top, delete all serials, and enter the correct one. Voila, the plugin works!
Maybe but I had to copy the DVD plugin DVDMPEG2Enc.dll to Nerovision dir for it to display dvd options.
Well, I didn't, I just changed the serial. So apparently there is no need to perform any "tricks" if you have the correct serial...
Hello to everyone! I'm writing you from Portugal. I've installed a Nero v.6* keygen on my computer and the first serial number didn't let me to use the Nero Recode2. After reading [bold]thomasj (Newbie)[/bold] message I've tryed several serial numbers and...[bold]BINGO[/bold]...now I'm able to use it. Thank you for your tip.
I have tested and it is true. Use NVE2103 keygen and change the serial number for NeroVision Express 2. Once done, you are able to encode DVD to Nero Digital Video mp4 files again!
Can you post that valid serial witch allow to Nero Recode to encode DVD's with 5.1 audio ? Or to send it to me at andrei0_ro@yahoo.com. Thanx
Errm - Andrei..... I'm not at all sure we're allowed to ask for serials here, or provide any links which enable software to be cracked. This is construed as piracy, and this is a piracy-sensitive forum (quite rightly, I hasten to add!) If you have PAID for your copy of Nero, you will have a working serial number. If you haven't paid for a copy, you have to put up with limited functionality! Hope this helps! Rob
