PLZ HELP !!! HOW DO I BURN A DVDRip file /AVI

Hello Guys
I download some movies from different torrent links, anyhow those movies came with aVDrip/avi Format, but everytime I tried to burn the videos with my Nero so I can play them in my dvd player it wont let me I don't know if it's cuz of the size of the Videos some are more than 700 mb/ 120 min.
Any I deas Guys how do I can burn those pupys, which software do u recomand to use, so I can see them in a bigger screen and free some space in my hard drive.
