wondering if anyone could clarify a few things for me, please? i am just now learning about backing up my original ps2 games...and so far i am doing ok... but now i am reading on how to load "saved game data" using a usb jump drive (pen drive) to my ps2 and i am COMPLETELY lost!!! this is what i have right now in terms of equipment; 1.swap magic 3.6 plus 2.older/bulkier ps2, i am guessing it is a v7 (not totally sure) 3.512mb sandisk jump drive 4. flip top cover i have read some tutorials on how this works but i am SORRY...i still don't get it. could a kind soul here explain to me in a simple way as you were explaining to a 5 years old person, please? i am not sure what else i have to buy...action replay max evo? or would my 3.6 swap magic do the work? do i need to install anything onto my jump drive? i read some stuff about .elf files onto the root of the jump drive...but i still don't get it... i thank you all in advance, and i apologize for my slowness in this matter... carapalida
if all you wanna do is transfer save files then get a hold of ar max evo. It lets you manage mem cards and it supports usb flash drives (not all flash drives are compatible though). Just read up a bit more on this topic to be sure swap magic loads up ar max.
thank you westar. but is action replay max evo the only way to go? i did read some stuff arround here and at some other sites...i was under the impression that i could also use swap magic 3.6 plus and a program that you install onto your pen drive...some exploit of some sort...not sure...as i said...i am really confused... another question i have, can action replay max evo be backed up? or are those discs pressed just like the swap magic ones? thank you in advance...
Re AR Max back-up, Yes you can back up AR Max using Blind Write but you'll need to have a modchip (or swap magic) so that the PS2 can recognise the AR Max back up.
