Hello all, i just reied to burn a DVD-R (8x) and all went well, it even began the burn process for a couple of secaonds and then i got a "PMA update failure" message and the process terminated. Your media is not considered very good.You could try slowing down your burn to 4x or slower,and try a firmware update. Change your media to Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim.
- EDIT OUT your serial number, it's probably half way round the internet by now - version A104 of your firmware is here - http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1973 - as jim_dandy stated, this media is not very good. I'll also recommend Verbatim [bold]datalifeplus[/bold] - slow it down!, try 4x - your drive doesn't like your media - think this is symptom of the other things, not a cause
