Poor man's surround sound

Hi, i am looking for a cable that can play my ipod mp3 , my computers mp3 and that i can use for my tv/videogames/movies for a surround sound but using the stuff i already have. there is a place on the stereo to put the patch cable i got that far and dont know exactly what to get.....thanks for anyhelp i get.....
