Have a D-link wireless router about 6 months old having a terrible time of makig it work, reception is horrendous if Iam within 3-5 feet of the router computer will connect (badly) but connect nevertheless. When I leave the room connection disappears, I know range varys but the next room??? Has to be something wrong im connecting with a toshiba laptop and works everywhere else I go so has to be a router issue. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in adcance!

what model D-Link is it ?

plus how thick are your walls, one of the wireless PC's in my (victorian hence walls are like a foot thick) house barely gets a signal due to not being able to get at the router 2 walls away

I dont have the router with me but I think its something like DI-524 make sense??? walls are thinner then drywall nothing unusual and not a foot thick. Should work the way it is it works fine wired up but wireless is crap.
