i was in some websites on games and movies and it was a normall website that i go onto with my other computers but now i am getting pop ups and don't know what to do to get rid of them. so what is the problem and how would i fix it?
Hi luke. Your problem has two possibiliies. 1. You are infected. 2. It is only the website that gives you pop ups, and you do not receive pop ups when you do not visit the website. For option number 1, download HijackThis, rename it to scanner.exe and then run it and post a log here. Also, download A-squared free, run it, and post a log here without removing anything. For option number 2, you just have to set your browser options to block pop ups. Usually third party pop up blocker will are the user's choice, but normal browsers will also have integrated pop up blockers. Best Regards
are you using or have internet explore on your computer?? if the excessive pop-ups are occurring with internet explorer then you most likely have a add-on running without your permission! close all your apps and open the "task manger" alt+ctrl+delete now check and see if the process iexplorer.exe is running, that process is internet explorer disable all add-ons, then see if its still listed when you've exited out of internet explorer... many times viruses run using internet explorer...... -tripplite
