I have printed reams of good info/manuals etc. Thanks! My problem is (I think) getting the dish aimed correctly. 119 has both green bars and is at 97%, it reads 110W in the upper right corner. 110 is red, we have fiddled with it for months, and can't seem to get the signal. Everything I read says it is probably "out of plumb" We have a twin legacy CS 5000. Any trouble shooting advice regarding the box, wiring, setup, installation or anything, before I start playing with the dish itself again? We get several locals from 3 states and all the PPV, but none of the rest. Since we DO get those channels, I am inclined to believe everything is ok but my aim! Just exactly how do I learn which way to "point"?! I have lists of numbers which correspond to particular channels, but as a newbie, I don't know what to do with the information. Thanks.
119 faces south 110 faces south and a tiny bit east they both need to have the dish bar that the eye goes on straight.
What station or programming do you get on channel 213 right now? We need to be sure what sat you actually have sighted in first. Jerry
I'm about 90% sure you are watching sat 110 not 119. Channel 213 I asked about is the NASA channel on 119 and is never scrambled. The 2 channels you listed are on the 110 sat channel list in those spots. Now you need to find out which of your LNBs is actually picking up the signal. TURN OFF THE RECEIVER BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT ANY CABLES. Now disconnect each LNB one at a time to find out which one is getting the 110 signal. Once you do that this should help. Looking at the front of the dish and at the back of the LNB, 119 sat is to the right of the 110 LNB approx 2 inches over and 2 inches above the 110 LNB. This is where the skew adjustments come into play. You will need to slightly twist your dish to get the LNBs in proper position. 119 should end up on the right side of 110 and just slightly higher than 110 LNB. This is while in front of the dish. All adjustments should be done in small steps or movements. Jerry
Thank you, thank you! I am puttin' on my ear muffs and boots right now! While going through all the stuff, I found a 4 x 1 DiSEqC switch, which I remember the installer saying I didn't need. Would that be correct? I only have the one receiver.
Yes, thats the correct type of switch but you may not need it. I'm almost sure the legacy twin has built in switch. There should be a legacy settings in the receiver setup. I found these settings on another site for the setup. 119 lnb type: standard lnb freq: 11250 22KHz: off diseqc: 1 legacy sw: Twin LNB 1 110 lnb type: standard lnb freq: 11250 22KHz: off diseqc: 1 legacy sw: Twin LNB 2 Jerry
