I'm sorry, FFXI is Final Fantasy 11 online, its a MMORPG. Role playing game online. Ive read that a couple sites that everyone visits, someone had put keylogger's on the ad banners that are on those sites and got alot of ppl's ID and passwords and stole their accounts. I was told that there is something on my PC for them to do that, wanting to find it and remove it. A tech from the company told us that the only way you could find it was to disconnect from the net and its imbedded in the registry. ?????? new hjt log, thanks Logfile of Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.2 Scan saved at 5:23:58 AM, on 12/13/2007 Platform: Windows XP SP2 (WinNT 5.01.2600) MSIE: Internet Explorer v6.00 SP2 (6.00.2900.2180) Boot mode: Normal Running processes: C:\WINDOWS\System32\smss.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\winlogon.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\services.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\lsass.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\Ati2evxx.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe C:\Program Files\TGTSoft\StyleXP\StyleXPService.exe C:\Program Files\Lavasoft\Ad-Aware 2007\aawservice.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\spoolsv.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\Ati2evxx.exe C:\WINDOWS\Explorer.EXE C:\Program Files\Lexmark 3300 Series\lxccmon.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\Roxio Shared\9.0\SharedCOM\RoxWatchTray9.exe C:\Program Files\Roxio\Media Experience\DMXLauncher.exe C:\Program Files\Roxio\Drag-to-Disc\DrgToDsc.exe C:\Program Files\Webroot\Accelerate\accelerate.exe C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.6.0_03\bin\jusched.exe C:\Program Files\Analog Devices\SoundMAX\SMax4PNP.exe C:\Program Files\Analog Devices\SoundMAX\Smax4.exe C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunesHelper.exe C:\Program Files\CyberLink\PowerDVD\PDVDServ.exe C:\Program Files\Messenger\msmsgs.exe C:\Program Files\Chronograph\chrono.exe C:\Program Files\SlySoft\AnyDVD\AnyDVD.exe C:\Program Files\Linksys\WMP11 Config Utility\WMP11CFG.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\bin\AppleMobileDeviceService.exe C:\Program Files\CyberLink\Shared files\RichVideo.exe C:\Program Files\Analog Devices\SoundMAX\SMAgent.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\lxcccoms.exe C:\Program Files\iPod\bin\iPodService.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\wscntfy.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\Roxio Shared\9.0\SharedCOM\CPSHelpRunner.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\wuauclt.exe C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis\HijackThis.exe R0 - and btw, there was none of those in my control panel, ran the program you said and repost'd new hjt. Sorry, half asleep getting rdy to go to work. LOL
hi, that was worth a try. lets do this: first we will use hjt, then boot into sfe mode to look for some files. hjt: start HJT, click the "Scan" button. check the items below, close any open windows, then click "Fixed checked" O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Hdps] "C:\WINDOWS\system32\MANTEC~1\dexplore.exe" -vt ndrv O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Gbkx] "C:\Documents and Settings\Shane Farr\Application Data\s?curity\l?gonui.exe" O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Captdcbf] C:\WINDOWS\system32\?ssembly\?serinit.exe O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Nwrdsem] "C:\Program Files\?ymbols\s?rvices.exe" O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Yux] C:\WINDOWS\system32\??pPatch\w?wexec.exe ------------------------------------------ might want to copy/paste this into notepad and save it so you can find it in safe mode. to reach safe mode tap the f8 key during a conputer reboot. chose the first option on the list: safe mode. once at the safe mode desktop see if you can find these files a nd delete them: C:\Program Files you are looking for: ?ymbols\s?rvices.exe looks like a folder spelled ymbols, the ? could be anything inside the folder is a .exe delete the entire folder. C:\Documents and Settings\Shane Farr\Application Data you are looking for: s?curity\l?gonui.exe (another folder with a exe inside. if you dont see the application folder do this: 1. Right click on Start > Explore > Tools > Folder Options > View. 2. Under "Files and Folders" check the radio buttons for: 3. "Show hidden files and folders", and 4. uncheck "Hide extensions for known file types", and 5. uncheck "Hide protected operating system files (recommended)" > click "Yes" to the pop-up window > and then click "OK." these are in the system32 dir: sort list by date, these files should be newer in date: C:\WINDOWS\system32 (looks like more folders with .exe inside) MANTEC~1\dexplore.exe \?ssembly\?serinit.exe ??pPatch\w?wexec.exe -------------------------------------------- reboot normally, go out and grab combofix: Download combofix from one of these links and save it to Desktop: http://subs.geekstogo.com/ComboFix.exe http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe Double click combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
