Ok maybe Sony could minimize install times if they could create a hybrid blu-ray/dvd/cdr disk if you could dedicate a region on this disk to the content that need to be loaded onto the HDD the information could be placed on the dvd/cdr region of the disk. I know nothing about Blu-Ray discs and the zones on the disk or if this is even possible. LOL i am just trying to come up with a solution to greatly decrease load times. Which are related to the low read speed of the blu diode thats included in the drive of current ps3's. Or package a cheap cdr with content on it along with the blu-ray disk. Just a suggestion lol. Input welcome.
Duh. But the blu ray drive has slow read speads it hinders the install process in some games of upwards to 20 mins thats a joke.
The only game that I played that required a 20 minute install was Devil May Cry 4. With this game the load times are very quick. 20 minutes one time is not that big of a hastle IMO.
Installing ain't that big of a problem guys. Its actually a advantage in comparison to 360. A Big disadvantage that the 360 had was that they made the "Arcade" edition that had no Hard disk. Because of this, developers are not allowed to create games that rely on the hard disk for pre-arranging material. If you look at games like Mass Effect that had to add "elevators" from places to places just so that the could give time for the 360 to load stuff. You went down a elevator and you have to wait like 1min. I would rather wait 5min in the beginning to let the game install and have a good gaming experience than to have my gameplay constantly interrupted with loading breaks.
yeah i guess. just like in vice city and stuff. that annoyed me. in the middle of the game with the islands and stuff. cant wait for GTA 4 though
