    I guess AD are still troubleshooting performance issues but that's made me think about the double postings problems caused either by replying too quickly resulting in double replies & slowdowns (whether due to afterdawn or external to afterdawn). I don't know what the functionality is called as i'm not into the innards of websites, but on another site i frequent there's some functionality that prevents you reposting within too short a time period.

    This i think would prevent the accidental multiposts/multiple replies but obviously wouldn't stop the deliberate post uppers/multiposters, but as someone who can be impatient i often fall foul of double replying.. so pls consider something like this..

    I only ever get double post if there's been a slowdown, like if I've already hit replay and nothing happens by pressing it again i will have double posted (i never do that since i figured it out ;), i have seen times when the browser is so slow that i have quit and reopened it and went to the forum to find that my post is already there even thou it seemed like it had crashed. I really like the idea of something that prevents you from re-posting within a time period (maybe 15mins?), i have often seen people that have posted right after when they could have used the edit button but to be far to some they have not got a clue as too were that edit button is.

    dont you think 15 minutes is rather hasty... because if you visit different forums helping/recieving advice...you could only post 4 in an hour...

    @creaky, p4_tt

    do you mean like posts in the same thread, or same forum, or afterdawn in general.

    I mean posts in the same thread. Yeah 15mins is a bit too much maybe something like 5mins would be better?

    soz, i meant in the same thread. on another site i use it's something like less than a minute, in fact it's probably in the order of 10 seconds or something daft like that, it basically prevents accidental double posting.

    IMDB has a 2 minute posting restriction when you post more than 3 messages in 5 minutes or sumfin.
