I dont have much clue about remixing a song or the use of all kinds of audio mix software out there but is it possible to for excample making the guitar more upfrond in a audio mix? Or can this only be done in a proffesional studio with acess to the master tapes for that particular recording?
the best you could do is use an audio editing program such as audacity and use the equalizer to try and increase the general frequencies of the guitar, but other than that there's not much you can do with the stereo mix of a song. you need a multi track format what has each instrument on separate tracks.
