I've done a bit of searching and have done some reading on the subject of jailbreaking. I am currently running iOS 4.1, but have not backed up any SHSH blobs. My understanding is that since Apple has stopped signing 4.2.1, does that mean that I'm SOL and might as well just upgrade to iOS 4.3 and back up that SHSH for the future? Or can I still upgrade to 4.2.1 using Green Poison's untethered jailbreak?

I would also like to know if there is a method that allows to restore 4.2.1 without blobs as i didn't know you couldn't do a data wipe on the phone only which makes the phone need a restore if you are jailbroken. If there is no such possible way is there a way to downgrade from 4.3 without blobs? Or is it possible to use the blobs of another phone to install 4.2.1?

Yes same issue aswell i had saved 4.1 and 4.3.1 and 4.3 SHSH Blobs and downgraded to 4.1 but would like to upgrade to 4.2.1 for some unkown reason Tiny Umbrella couldnt find 4.2GM 4.2.1GM 4.3b1 4.3b2 4.3b3. Can i upgrade to 4.2.1 without apple signing 4.2.1 anymore without the blobs.

You can't use the blobs of another iPhone. Additionally you can't back up the blobs once Apple ceases signing them. So the key really is to upgrade when the untethered jb comes out and save your SHSH blobs, allowing you to change firmware versions as you please.

DA5101, you won't be able to upgrade to 4.2.1 without saved blobs. Currently Apple is only signing the latest, 4.3.2 version of iOS.

I upgraded to 4.3.1 with redsn0w rc12, and it was cack, so downgraded back to 4.2.1.
