I flashed the bios with EvoX D.6.bin by using the OZX Flash disc. I used the X2 Bios manager to make the bios a 1 meg file. Everything seemed to go well and it stated the bios had been flashed correctly. Now when I turn the Xbox on without a disc it boots directly to the MS Dashboard. Before it came up with the Xbox logo in Red and it had Xecuter 2.2 written below it. Now after the flash I can't boot the OZX flash disc to attempt to flash it with the correct bios (4977). Am I out of luck now with trying to flash the bios from CD? Do I need to purchase the flash cable now in order to succesfully update? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Nevermind. All worked out. Seems by xbox dvd rom just really sucks at reading pretty much anything. Used the tutorial on xbox-scene to hook up a standard pc dvd rom and the bios disc read perfectly and the flash to 4977 was completed in no time. Sucks to have wasted all that time trying to burn CD-RW's, only to have that not be the problem at all. If you are having similar problems definitely try the dvd rom swap. Save yourself a lot of headaches. Now on to the hardrive swap. Thanks for all the help this forum has offered.
