    Hello everyone!

This is my first post on afterdawn, so I would like to say hi to everyone here. I have a few concerns. I purchased a PSP from a trusty Ebay Powerseller offering a PSP 1.50. This is great right, but my worry is that will my PSP ever ask me to upgrade or will it ever auto upgrade if I do certain options. So basically I am asking is there a way to DISABLE upgrading at all, just in case I let a cousin or someone play, and they hit something foolish and upgrade my PSP. (It can happen...). Haha, well thanks for any response. Take care all!

It wont auto upgrade, before it upgrades it will ask you to confirm at least 2 times.
Theres no way to turn off the upgrading function. Jus make sure you dont upgrade above 2.0

Thanks for the quick answer! Thats good to hear, yes and I realize the version differences and the ability to play homebrew games. However, are there any games that cannot be played with the 1.5?

Alot of the newer games wont work from UMD it will make u update it to play. PPl have gotten round this by ripping the UMDs into backups and running it with game loaders
However it doesnt work for all
If you want to know more here a list of working backups

U can be guaranteed most new umd games wont work on 1.5 unless you backup

Thanks for the list, you have been really helpful. Now I have to figure out how to create backups and play those, shouldn't be too difficult. Thanks again!

i think you can play game if you use Fastloader. You will have two options Start UMD and Dump UMD. if you want to play games which need firmware 2 or above u just put the game UMD in PSP1.5 and play game by Fastloader. Voala!
