hey all, have been using nero for years now but am using different dvds than i normally use to burn stuff ( HITECK 8x DVD-R 4.7GB 120 MIN ). they work fine on my new comp running vista but on my older laptop running xp I keep getting this power calibration error. all I can see is that you are using crappy media in the same class as Memorex!!!!! that's not good and this could be the reason why you're getting a power calibration error! Use better media.... switch to Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim! problem almost solved ......... also: Update your Nero to version 6.6.1.15a Here's how: Before udating to 6.6.1.15a save the serial #, uninstall Nero, then use the cleaning tools : http://www.nero.com/eng/support-nero6-tools-utilities.html then do a registry clean up(free registry cleaner, CClean: http://www.ccleaner.com/download/downloadpage.aspx?1) and defrag...... then reboot! update to Nero 6.6.1.15a, install Package 1 and Package 2 only: http://www.nero.com/eng/downloads-nero6-update.php reboot and you're good to go! and you're a little too high in your RAM usage...... shut down some unnecessary programs running in the background, don't multi task, and no internet..... even shut down your anti virus programs! try these changes and you'll be fine!
