power calibration error

    hi everybody. I know alot been said about power calibration . i tried everything but i am still having problem with my burner. i get this error message all the time . i dont know what to do can somebody explain what is the solution .

    It may help if your DMA were enabled - this can done from device manager - also advisable to remove your serials numbers from your post.

    tank s for your help but how can i enabled DMA.Because
    i dont know how to do it . please can u explain it to me . thank u .aswell when i change speed on my pioneer 2x it work s fine.

    Advice and link provided by Verbin 22nd July 2004 - enable DMA entered into search box at top of screen to locate link:

    For repeated DMA errors. Windows XP will turn off DMA mode for a device after encountering certain errors during data transfer operations. If more that six DMA transfer timeouts occur, Windows will turn off DMA and use only PIO mode on that device.

    In this case, the user cannot turn on DMA for this device. The only option for the user who wants to enable DMA mode is to uninstall and reinstall the device.

    Have you tried un-installing both the DVD Burner and the IDE Channel it is on and then rebooting to let Windows re-install those devices?
