    Hi

I really need someone to help me out here.
My laptop power setting keep resetting themselves. I was using Dell Quickset software to manage the power settings and had it set so the hard drive and monitor etc.. never turned off. Closing the lid = Do nothing, Pressing the power button = Hibernate.
every hour or so, if I looked at these settings they would have retored to the default settings and I would have to readjust them.
Another Forum site reccommended uninstalling this software and using the control panel power management, which I did only to find that the exact same thing is happening. Microsoft's support pages gave me a reset command to enter in the command line which I did and this seemed to work for a few hours but went back to the way it was shortly after.
Does anyone have a fix for this or is there an application that I acn use to successfully manage my power settings?
I have a Dell Inspiron 1501 laptop running Windows XP Pro SP2.

    Thanks a million

    Jarvis

Check the bios to make sure it's not changing the settings. Older dell laptops had the power options in the bios.
