I am trying to play an XviD movie file from my harddrive with cyberlink PowerDVD DX and am having some problems. I downloaded FFShow codecs and cannot get PowerDVD to play the file. I know the solution is something simple, I was just wondering if someone out there could save me some time and give me a hint.

I am operating on Windows XP Media Center Edition.

I have tried ffdshow codecs and xvid codecs and still have no luck. I get an error when I try to play the file in Media Center stating 'Cannot play video - Media Center encountered an unknown error'. Has anyone had this problem or know a solution?

ehh I wouldn't use PowerDVD for XviD

Download VLC (Videolan.org) media player. Best player for files on your HDD.
