ok all ... Im buying a top of the line dell xps m170 laptop (2.23) with 2048mb ddr2 ram + a 100 gig 7200 rpm hardrive inside ... I want to take my 2 benq burners and put them in exteral enclosures so I can use them with my desktop and laptop... #1 what is the best enclosure to use with these? #2 does anyone see a problem running these through usb?am I going to loose any proformance by doing this? will it slow down the prosses of burning? Ive got a dcdrom inside to decript to my hard drive, but when I burn will the proformance suffer running through a usb? I use shrink/anydvd/nero 7 which have always worked flawlessly for me on my desktop system..... educated opinions?
This is what you are looking for. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817145652 I have the 3.5" version for my 250 gig HD hooked up to my Dell laptop. The fan keeps it running cool and the case is very sturdy. I plan on getting the 5.25" when I get another burner.
