I recently purchased a 60gig video ipod. I used a free trial program to rip a few videos off of a dvd, but was tired of only being able to rip 5 minutes worth. I asked a guy at Bestbuy what I could use to rip and convert video for an ipod, and he suggested I use PQ DVD to iPod Video. So I bought it. It worked really well converting the videos I ripped with a different program (the audio was crystal clear), but whenever I use it to rip something the audio comes out really terrible. It crackles and pops a lot. I've tried different settings, and nothing seems to get rid of the popping sounds. Can anyone give me some tips? I'm using Cyberlink decoders for both audio and video.

    Hey,

This happened to me when i was trying to rip Sahara (a rental). I found the when i just stuck it in my tray it sounded fair (a few pops). Then i put to the highest possible sound quaility and it got a little better. Then i realized that the disk was really dirty and kinda scratched (it being a rental and all). So i did the best i could...cleaned it and then it worked like a charm. I know this sounds like a really lame response but it worked for me. And also i reccomend Power DVD. Good Luck!

pirate24 - does this problem occur with all of the DVD's you attempt to rip - or just the one ~ ?

it seems all of them. i've tried about 5 music video dvds so far. i used a trial program for a few, and they turned out fine. the sound is wonderful. but whenever i use pqdvd to rip, the sound is bad.

In the settings, is the sound on "Best Quality"?
