I have edited a video that runs about 3 minutes in length. As I play back the video from program monitor or timeline, the video starts to hicup and even skips around. Obviously the output comes out that way too. I have a P4-1.6 ghz Compaq with 512 megs of RAM. PLENTY!!! Is it an upper/lower field issue and if it is, which one is right for DV output as an AVI? It's a paintball video so there is a lot of camera movement which I heard affects that field issue. Any help would be great.

This may not be a problem. Using Premiere 6.0 on my 2Ghz laptop, Microsoft's DV formatted AVIs behave the same way as you on the timeline. However, the firewire output is smooth. Have you encoded the timeline to an AVI and played that back to see if it skips and jumps?
