Presence of ts_ifo file in DVDShrink

I assume DVDShrink requires the presence of the ts_iso file as I get "file not found" messages when I omit it. But if I use DVD Decrypter and chose to back up only the main movie files it doesn't include this file. From my very rough understanding of DVD file structures I am assuming that ts_ifo acts as a "contents page" for the vob and other ifo files. To stop rambling on and come to the point can I include the ts_ifo file along with the main movie files or will this cause a problem as it'll refer to files that I haven't included. If I don't include it is there a way I can load the main movie files into DVDShrink.

Your settings in DVD Decrypter - is mode set to IFO I?? It should be for DVD SHrink to work with it.

Yes, I'm working in ifo file mode. Re-reading my original post I'm not sure if I've been very clear. From reading various FAQ's it doesn't seem essential to include the ts_ifo file when using DVD Shrink in IFO file mode but if I don't I'm getting the "file not found" message, but if I do include it when working with main movie titles only I'm guessing that may cause problems.

The VIDEO_TS.IFO file is needed. Its the VIDEO_TS.VOB file that isnt needed and usually isnt ripped from the disc.

I see where I've been going wrong, i.e. I realise I know so little it scares me. Backing up audio CDs is soooo much easier. Thanks for the help.
