pretty much same problem

    Mr starchy what is the disk mode ?

    I'm not Mrstarchy but I'll answer for you, disk mode is a setting you can put your iPod on so it acts like a hardrive. Forcing your iPod into disk mode [resetting and then holding play and center while the Apple logo is present] lets you restore your iPod when it otherwise isn't working.

    but my ipod automatically update like i first bought it, seems like when i download new software updater everything really disappoited me
    ipod not update songs from itunes library automatically like itunes 6....
    anyway , you probably know a lot about ipod , would you pls help me
    to fix the problem

    When your iPod is connected to your computer go into iTunes and click on your iPod. Click on the 'Summary' tab and then see if 'Manually Mange Music and Video's' is checked off. If it is that is probably why your iPod isn't updating new songs by itself.
