Does anyone know how to make chapters in Nero, but then not display the associated menues? Making the chapters is easy, but not displaying the associated menu appears to be impossible in Nero. I can do it in Roxio (but who wants to use Roxio?). Thank you for any replies in advance

There is an option under more somewhere (I forget where) to make menu for main movie only or for main mavie and chapters. Do some looking around under more to find the option. I think its when you are in the menu edit area.

Tried your recommendations, but the results are not what I'm looking for. In the first menu, where you "add" your DVD files to the project, there's a check box for "Create Menu on the Disk", and if you uncheck it, it still lets you go ahead and make the chapters for each title, but, it doesn't allow the Title menus to show. This'd be great if you have one Title on the DVD and you wanted it to start out, and you'd go right thru the title as you would on a full length movie, and you can "skip" using the chapters. However, what I primarily do is to have 4 or 5 History Channel titles on one DVD, and would like to see a menu for the titles, but no chapter menus. By unchecking the check box above, it prevents you from building up the Title menu. As I mentioned, in Roxio, you have an option to "disable" the chapter menus while keeping the title menu intact. Surprising that Nero doesn't do the same. Again, thank you for your ideas, but I guess I'm trying to shovel sh-- against the tide. If I ever figure out how to do it, will make a posting on the forum.

I think you just have not found it yet. When you are adding files to your "Create dvd video" project there is a more botton. Click that and there will be a checkbox to create chapters automatically. I just discovered this myself after years of use. This will allow you to have one menu with multiple movies, but then play each one with two minute chapters not in menu format. Let me know if this works for you, if not be more specific about what you are looking for.

Thank you for your reply, bu what you described is not on my menu system for NeroVisionExpress. The versions I'm using are: NeroVision Express V2.1.2.16, Nero OEM V6.3.1.18, and NeroMedia Player is V1.4.0.22. What I'm trying to do is to create a DVD that has 4 History Channel Episodes (each considered to be a Title). Each title usually has 6 to 8 chapters that I create, and upon creation, each produces a Chapter Menu item. I really don't use the Chapter Menus at all, but by them creating a "Skip" target gives one an opportunity to use the "Skip" function on the player to fast forward skip ahead or skip back rather than using the Fast Forward and Fast Reverse functions that one would use on a VHS tape. What versions of the above are you using on your system? Maybe I should update the files, but am skeptical about doing that as I've read some real horror stories.

ok, I guess you got the OEM with you burner? I think that is a good sign. I am using nero 6 ultra edition 6.6.1.4 and nero digital 3.1.0.25 which are both the most recent versions. I am not sure if you need both or just one. It doesnt make sense that you cant create chapters for each title. I think you should keep playing with it. Nero is great software and they offer free trials I believe. Dont try nero 7, as it is to new to be reliable.
I was disappointed in some of the bugs, so I pirated everything else just to try to find something better. All the other stuff ended up in my recycling bin.

You can expect horror stories on the forum, if everything is peachy we have no need to be here.

Hi: I tried downloading and updating the OEM Nero that came with my DVD recorder. According to the download instructions, which came in 5 parts, all I needed was downloads 1 and 2. When I tried to burn a DVD, I still didn't get the menu features that you had mentioned previously. I did, however, lose a feature that I find important, and that is the older version would let me set the recording speed other than "Max". The reason I need this is sometimes I get some DVDs blanks that will only support 4X rather than the 16X that they're labeled as (TDK -R DVDs for example). Fortunately, I backed up my system and was able to restore it. I do have a purchased copy of "Nero 6 Ultra Edition" OEM Suite that I'll try later this week. I'll completely deinstall the present S/W and try installing the new CD. Otherwise, will continue to muddle along. Thank you so much for working with me on this apparent problem.
