I see some TY on this site that are printable. I'm new to the whole printable thing and was wondering if these are good. I know the brand is good, but is printable media pretty good? I have a Canon S520, I assume any ink jet printer will work, is that correct? As well, is blankmedia.ca reliable? Thanks!

I haven't printed on TY printable disks, but I have on Verbatim and Ritek.
The Ritek had the best finish surface and printed brighter than the others - but the actual disks are not as good quality as Verbatim.
The Verbatim disks I had were not 'hub printable' so there was a sizable area near the centre that wasn't printed.

Blankmedia.ca is a reliable (if expensive) outfit (I think they are in Kitchener, Ontartio).

Can that Canon S520 really print on a CD?
I thought the only Canons that could do that were the IP range.
The original IP3000 could be modified to print CD's while later models (in Canada - unlike the US) came complete with the cd tray.

I believe, but can't speak to Canadian models, that some Epson and HP printers also print to CD.

I use TY printables all of the time.

Canons in the USA typically can't print to CD because Canon "locked out" the functionality.

AFAIK, the S520 cannot print to CD/DVD anyway.

You need a printer especially designed to print direct to CD/DVD in order to do this.

I use Epson 260/280/585 with CISS.
