hello, is there a way to clean a printhead of a canon s200spx bubble jet printer , maybe a special cartridge. i understand that cartridge refils have oil based ink and therefore the result is blocked cartridge. cartridges with water based ink are reported to be better. to buy a new cartridge for my machine is about $ 70.00 and i can buy a new printer for about the same. is there anyone who can offer advice? cheers-terrace
thank you ddp. the printhead is on the cartridge holder. the two cartridges black and color have to be taken out and then the holder can be taken out to inspect the bottom of it. cheers-terrace
place the holder on a fairly damp paper towel on/in an old plate or bowel so that the printhead is sitting on the paper towel for an hour than wipe off dry.
hello again ddp ill try that. i tried the isopropyl, the black print comes out but the color comes out pink.the isopropyl i bought comes under a product called isocol at chemist/ pharmacy here in australia. the printhead is at the bottom of the ink tank holder. thanks again-terrace
hello, thank you all for your help but after trying everything i have no result except the black still prints ok but the color comes out in pink only. it seems to me that the ink tanks in this model are too small and too costly and canon does not give you the opportunity to maintenance the printhead and ink tanks apart from running cleaning under properties on the computer which does very little. ill stick to black now and if i want a color photo ill go to ted`s camera`s or k mart where they are only $ 2.00 each. all the best-terrace
