hey, i was wondering if anyone could help me out. the images im printing are all around 10.75 inches wide, but when the image is done printing the size is reduced to about 10.5 inches allowing part of the case to show. It's not that big of a deal, but does anyone know how to get around this???
Have you tried setting the printer to "landscape" instead of "portrait". In case you're not familiar with what I'm saying, the top to bottom (wide part) of the sheet becomes the width. The page is shorter, but broader when printed.
yea, ive tried that, but thats not the problem. most dvd covers are about 7.25 x 10.75 and the standard paper size is 8 x 12. At a certain point the printer will either resize or crop the image, because they dont want to print to the edge of the paper. I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to print the whole cover without resizing or cropping. there's is plenty of room left on the paper, but this damn machine doesn't want to do what I want. thanks anyway.
My HP printer won't print the whole dvd cover, no matter what I do. It cuts some off. When I bought my Epson R200 printer, for printing directly on printable cds or dvds, I found it prints all of the cover. You also need to use a template, to get cover to exact size. I use the Memorex templates that came on the software disc included with Memorex labels or dvd case inserts. I'm not sure, but you may be able to download the software from Memorex's site. Good luck!
Hi Kurtz86 I use paint shop pro to resize the image then use page setup to make sure image fits then print.
I've got an old Canon i950. All I do is download the cover, select print, choose the page format, I use "landscape". I then get the print options, among those full page without borders. So, if your printer is sizing with borders, you may not have the option. You'll need to find a print solution that will. As mentioned, one of the creative apps like paint shop might work for you. Makes me appreciate the Canon. I like the simplicity of just going through the print sequence and not having to use additional apps to edit. Also, it's nice having a paper cutter instead of trying to use scissors to cut off the excess.
Did you try Acoustica CD/DVD Label Maker 2.47 Free Trial is available here:- http://www.acoustica.com/cd-label-maker/
That's my problem my printer wont print close to the edge. I'm working with photoshop right now and trying to get it to work. If anyone has a solution let me know. And thanks for your help everyone.
If it's the printer software limiting you, then you need new print software and if that isn't available for your printer, I suspect your options are limited. Even with photo apps, it's limited by the size your printer will output. Check the manual for your printer to see if there are any additional settings. I have an option, Print Preference, that I can go into and change type paper, print quality, and size. Some printers just weren't intended for extensive photo type work.
dont know if this will help, but i use this for all my printing needs, just drag and drop, set the template and off it goes its from the site cdcovers.cc http://srs.targetpoint.com/external...&lo=http://www.cdcovers.cc/&tpq=download#exit the free version leaves a advertising banner on,(not sure),so check before you use
Borderless printing is what you need. If your printer is not capible of doing that, it may be more trouble than its worth. JBurden
I have an Epson R200 and I print in landscape mode. I use Photoshop Elements to size my imagaes for my DVD covers, 10.5" x 7.2. These are for the slimline DVD cases. I resize my images to 200 dpi and they fit perfectly after cutting away the excess.
as above, but i have the r300,but i dont have to resize anything, with that software,i just drag and drop using the correct template from the list it gives.size comes out perfect everytime the only thing it doesnt do is the actual cd disk's themselves, for which i use epsom's own software that comes with the printer i phucking love my epsom....best £79 i ever spent anyways, gone off topic now...this doesnt help kurtz
Hi Kurtz I still believe it's in your page setup I'm using Paint Shop Pro 5.01 & when I re size my cover before I print I go to file , go down to page setup & tick the center box & make sure image is %100 and it should fit. If you have too much top margin it will print full image. To Bigt1 This will also work for you too
Where can I find dvd covers to print? I was able to download one but havent had much luck finding any other ones.
