I'm trying to back up Monk Season 6. I tried DVD fab Plat & Fair use. Both give me the error message that the dvd is encrypted. Any suggestions?

In DvdFab is your Pathplayer on or off? You can check by going into Common Settings then Pathplayer.

Make sure that the disc is clean and no fingerprints on the optical surface.

Thanks everyone. I even purchased anydvd & can't get past 48%. I tried disc 1 & disc 2 & they both get stuck right there. I tried Anydvd & nero. Anydvd & dvdshrink. And dvd fab plat.

Beginning to sound like a bad pressing. Exchange and retry

Episode DVDs seem like the hardest disks to copy! Why I don't know but those are the ones that really cause problems. As long as you have your programs up-to-date and you are not only having trouble with just one disk but 2 or three of them..... the chances of having a bad press goes down, because it's more than just one disk! More likely there is some encryption type that just isn't being broken down properly! I seen this before with other TV episode disks. And if it's not a popular TV show then chances are that the programs won't spend the time to correct this problem! AnyDVD is the best bet to bust the encryptions. but, again, it is very highly unlikely that Hollywood Studios would make an encryption just for that TV show DVDs!

If cleaning the disks don't work then I would try different programs until one works. Also consider your drive that is reading the disks! It may be faulty and having trouble with just that type of disk.... try a different drive or even a different computer to read the disks and see if you have success there! this is the best suggestions that anyone can give you. Good luck. Keep us informed.
