Following your very lucid instructions for "Complete guide for using VSO CopyToDVD", I tried to burn a DVD (after it had been copied with DVD Shrink) and although the size of the file was given as 4.31Gb/4.38Gb with 65.4mb free space, when I dragged the "contents from your VIDEO_TS folder to the VIDEO_TS folder in the Project Window", the Video TS folder in the bottom right hand box shot up the exclamation mark in the blue circle - that the file was too big for the current project - at 4.31Gb???

What am I doing wrong? I tried to put in a DL DVD and change the direction to DVD 9, - but it didn't make any difference.

I didn't have any of this problem with the previous version of CopytoDVD, which seemed perfectly straighforward.

What program were you using to burn the files to a dvd? What brand of disks are you using?

It would also be good to set your file output to between 4300 & 4400MB. I have mine set to 4300, to make sure I have no problems fitting the files on a dvd.

I don't use copy to dvd. It's better to use dvdfab hd decrypter to rip and dvd shrink to compress. Dvdfab has a free version & dvd shrink is free.

Try using Imgburn in conjunction with the process that RTM27 laid out for you and you should be just fine.

You can use copytodvd to autoburn with dvd shrink:

    Open up dvd shrink/edit/preferences/file I/O

1)Untick that box to autoburn with nero.Dvd shrink's default setting is ticked to autoburn with nero.

    Click OK

    2) Now slap in your original, open up dvd shrink, open disc, let it quickly analyze and the movie files open up.

3)Do entire disc or click reathor. If reauthoring, click on the main movie title on the right side of screen and drag it to the left side.

4)Click Backup and you'll see all the backup options. 1st tab is Target device and it opens up immediately after you click backup.. This needs to be changed to enable autoburning with CopyToDvd,dvd decrypter, and nero:

Select target device:Set target device to your dvd-rw drive that'll do the burning, in case you have dual drives. Click on the V to the right of that and all options will show up like burning ISO,harddisc files,

When you click on that V,it'll look similar to this:

Look below the squiggly green line and you'll see burn ISO with Copytodvd. You'll select that ISO image to copydvd.

Below that is where the temp files will go to in case you need to make extra copies later. You can name each movie or use the same folder over and over again.

5)Then check the other tabs and make sure they look ok.They contain region free, quality enhancements in case it's highly compressed, and auto shutdown among some of the features.

After everything looks ok to you, then click ok and that's all she wrote.

I have used the dvd shrink/autoburn with copytodvd a few times, but nero gives me a higher stand alone compatability rate. It's an easy way to go unless you run into problematic encryption. It's like a 1 program process because dvd shrink is the only program I open up.

Problematic encryptions, then running anydvd in the background usually takes care of that, and it runs silently in the background as well. Then there's 3 programs being used, but dvd shrink is the only one to open up.
