I use Shrink 3.1 to rip DVD movies, then burn using Nero 6.3.1 and DVD-R blank media by Universal. Shrink always rip to a compilation 4464MB. I experienced no problem burning the compilation to the blank media. Now Nero gives an error message "There is not enough space to burn the compilation to this disc". But the window at the bottom of the Nero burn window shows that the compilation does not reach the red bar. The only change that I have made after previoulsy being successful is to upgrade Nero 6.3.1 to 6.3.1.10. Can anyone suggest a viable solution?
i might not be right here but i look at it as if its not broke dont fix it you say it worked fine before you updated nero if so go back to that 1 ive had problems in the past with nero ie updating and it wont pick up my writer etc so now i stick with the 1 i know works fine with ever thing i mean its out of date but it works fine for everthing so i dont change it
One way to fix this problem is to adjust the output size of the image in Shrink. If you go to Edit . Preferences > and the select "Custom" from the rop down menu, enter 4400 mb. This should now produce an output file that will fit without a problem. I use this setting all the time just because I do not like burning to the very outter layers of the DVD-R's. Let us know how it went. Good Luck!
I am having the same problem. I have a matshita/panasonice DVD-RAM drive which will burn a DVD-R disc. I have burned 100's of dvd's with nero but when I installed nero6.3.1.10 and nero6.3.1.15 it will not burn the dvd. It appears that nero thinks that I am trying to burn a CD not a DVD. The last version of nero that worked was nero 6.3.0.3 which is what I had to go back to get it to work. I have the latest firmware update of A127. Any advise would be appreciated.
I am also getting the same error. I used DVD Shrink to make an image file, and then use nero 6.0.0.0 to burn. I have made several DVD like this, but have recently run into this problem of it saying there is not enough space to burn this compilation to disc. The funny thing is that nero says you need to use a DVD -R/RW or +r/RW disc for compilation to fit and reports that a DVD +R is currently in drive. I have never upgraded my nero, and so far only this one DVD does it. I have used an alternate program to make the burn with no problems (dvd decryptor). Any ideas whats causing NERO to do this?
needdjim, I think you and I have exactly the same problem using different burners. I am using windows xp pro with all updates applied. I have a matshita dvd-ram drive ld311. I have removed any thing that may conflict uninstalled and reinstalled both nero 6.3.0.3 and nero 6.3.1.15 and get exactly the same results nero 6.3.0.3 burns perfectly and nero 6.3.1.15 quits immediately with not enough space to burn the compilation on every type and size of dvd I try to burn. The info screen I get with nero 6.3.0.3 states that there is 4,384 MB available and nero 6.3.1.15 states that 0 MB is available. I have to think that it is a nero problem but all they can tell me is to update firmware and ide drivers. Both firmware and ide drives and as current as available. Yes I can use nero 6.3.0.3 for every but when nero stops supporting nero 6.3.0.3 I am out of business. Any suggestions on what I might try would be appreciated.
slim1253, You and I have the same burner. So I decided to uninstall Nero 6.3.1.15 whcih I had updated to. I intend to reinstall Nero 6.3.0.3 with which I previously had success. If I experience no problem, I will so report in the future approximately a week hence. Thanks to all that responded to my initial and particular to kcc76.
hi I also have the same lf d310 matshita drive, now coming up with the same message. I had Nero 6.3.10, working and burning dvd,s although it was a bit slow it did work. but my hard drive failed and since re-installing the h-drive I can not get it to work, have since updated to 6.3.1.15 but still no joy, I do recall disabling windows xp dvd burn engine that was causing a conflict before, but have tried this as well and still no luck. my question is? is itpossible to backdate nero to an earlier edition that works. as I started on 6.3.1.10 or any other help would be great. thanks
I uninstalled Nero 6.3.x.15 completely, including the registry. Then I reinstalled my original version - Nero 6.3.0.13. Now everything works fine as it did originally, prior to the upgrade. I hope this might help. I dont know about any version after my version. Good Luck
