Hi, I recently purchased the new sony dvd burner with dvd+DL. I am new to this so bear with me. Anyway I have already burned several dvd+r's with zero problem. However when I insert a dvd+r DL and open Nero Smartstart and go to "burn dvd-video" it first fails to recognize it (the capacity bar at the bottom still shows it as the single layer disc. Then I add my files (which only use up about 6 gig, still leaving plenty of space) it says something to the effect of "This is larger than a single disc capacity. You need a dvd 9. Would you like to shrin it or expand the project to a dvd 9?" so I expand it. Then it shows the 8 gig. I do my menus, etc... Then I get to the screen where you burn it. There in big red letters in the lower left it says something again to the effect of "YOU NEED A DVD 9 FOR THIS PROJECT". Which is what I have. Then when I click BURN a message pops up saying something like "This may be unsuccessful and may result in it being unplayable, continue" so I click yes and it begins transcoding. However somewhere during the process it always fails. I have the error log and can post it when I get home (Im at work right now) but does anyone know what is going on? Its like it isnt detecting my DL at all.
