I have major problems. I have a LG 4163-B DVD writer connected by USB to my HP ze5300 laptop which will not allow me to burn copies of DVD movies. I can do data disks okay. I thought it was a problem with either the ASPI file or the firmware for the DVD unit. The real problems started after I put new firmware into the LG writer and loaded the updated ASPI file into the PC. The Toshiba SD-R2132 DVD-Rom on my laptop now no longer recognises CDs or DVDs. XP says there is no problem. Tried to roll back to a previous driver, but that didn't work - it asked me to find one on the system or a CD - I don't have the driver as a backup anywhere, not even on the system disks. I went to the Toshiba site to see if they had a driver for the unit on my laptop and I couldn't find one (it's a SD-R2312). As for burning DVD movies on the LG, every time it comes to burning the log window says "SCSI command aborted" and stops after 1%. I've ruined several DVD-R's this way. My problems are twofold: 1. How do I get my laptop's DVD-Rom back up and running properly? 2. How do I solve the problem of burning to the LG writer? Can anybody help pls? I'm losing my rag! :-[
feromone, the "SCSI command aborted" sounds like it may be something USB related in the burning software, try another program there as for the drivers for the laptop, try these guys, ... they usually have some of the old/stranger stuff that can't be found anywhere else. http://www.driverguide.com/ RX7 Fan
