okay i have always burned with no problems 8x dvds- well if i had problems i just jumped on the forum and found the fix thanks to everyone out there. now i went to stores this weekened seems that 8x is going to be the thing of the past cicuit city has all 16x just about. so i thought hey i will buy a small package memorex 16x cuz that was the brand i used before on the 8x yea i know alot of peps thinks it is crappy and when i try o burn with the 16x i get errors i have the nec 1300 10c which i believe is the latest firmware i am using nero 6.6.0 with the dvd region free in back ground. do you think that it may be just the firmware I checked the recording speed on the nec driver seems okay cuz alot of speeds is listed i have seen some post that states not to burn with 16 but computer guy at store said the dvd 16x will come down to right speed when burning i will trust what i get from here can anyone help me i have to learna fix to burn to the 16x dvd
Two problems.....you are using crappy media and you are trying to burn at way too fast a speed. The computer guy is full of BS. Try slowing down your burn speeds to 8X or even 4X and see it that helps, if not then buy some good media like TY or Verbs.
I will change media- when i was burning with 8x dvds i never changed anything anywhere- on nero or on the actual dvd burner it automatically did it for me i guess. thank you alot for the advise
Either buy a new burner or pick up some Taiyo Yuden Value Line 8X blanks from a site like Meritline or SupermediaStore.
Yes your burner has the latest available firmware which was updated back in 2004......that doesn't mean it can burn the latest discs as it should though but it might.
The consensus, on the Nero Forum, is to burn at 4x maximum with unnecessary processes turned off to maximize memory-and no multitasking.
ive backed up quite a few xbox games and to my knoledge the xbox is only capable of reading 8x ive tryed multiple times to burn to 16x at lower speeds but it still doesnt work your best bet is to install a regular dvd drive in your xbox i havent suceeded in doing that yet but im hoping to find answers here
